Rosa Parks Elementary Backpack Giveaway, Berkeley

Rosa Parks

BERKELEY, California – K to College helped kick off the annual kindergarten welcome dinner and backpack giveaway at Rosa Parks Elementary School.

The event was a great success thanks to the planning of Rosa Parks PTA, teachers, staff, and Principal Paco Furlan. Berkeley City Councilmember Darryl Moore provided beautiful Rosa Parks backpacks for each new kindergarten student, and in collaboration with K to College, a bag of school supplies valued at over $70.

When Superintendent Donald Evans heard that Councilmember Moore had virtually adopted Rosa Parks over seven years ago, he decided that he wanted to be on hand to help Councilmember Moore pass out the supplies, greet families and staff, and to celebrate a great start to the 2013-14 school year.
