California Backpack Collaborative

A network of agencies working together to provide backpacks to less fortunate students at a lower cost.

The California Backpack Collaborative is a network of nonprofits, churches, public agencies, clubs and other organizations that work together to coordinate one annual purchase of backpacks with the goal of increasing market power and thus significantly reducing costs for all participants. Administered by the nonprofit K to College, our goal is to create a network that will provide every under-resourced student with the confidence and sense of dignity that a new backpack brings. There is no cost to participate and participants are under no obligation by filling out this interest form. K to College will charge a minimal percentage (2-4%) on the unit price of each backpack to compensate for coordination costs. Expected savings for participants is between 10-50%.
